Called Kevin who was most professional and gave me, over the phone, a true estimate of the cost. Never had any problems with Australian Hot Water (Leumeah) before so Kevin sent Paul.
Paul did an excellent installation, considering the site is not pristine new. He installed a made in Australia Rheem, almost the same as before.
Hopefully plenty of hot water in the morning for Mum.

I had an unpleasant experience with a plumbing company yesterday. I was advised that I needed a new hot water service. He did the evaluation at $461 even though I advised that this had been done last Friday. After completing the evaluation listed quote he said I needed a new service. Cost $4700. Shown on an Ipad. He didn’t email the quote. Still not receiving the quote I did some further research and came across Australian Hot Water. I rang and spoke to Kevin. He advised he would come and check the service and the board to make sure it is the water service. Remembering I had been told, it was the service. Kevin came promptly, checked the service and! No it was the board. I didn’t need a new service. His quote for a Rheem Electric Hot water service installed $1700 12 yr warranty on case. I cant thank Kevin enough for his service, integrity, honesty and reasonable pricing. I discussed my situation yesterday, he advised he has been in the business for 40 years. I’m not surprised, his integrity and reputation speak for themselves. Serving the community for so long. I have no hesitation in recommending this business and Kevin.

By far the best customer service for any trade industry I’ve experienced. We have a new born and as our hot water tank busted, Georgie got someone out almost within a few hours to look at the issue on a Friday. Angus gave some great advice while here and once we confirmed the new system, had Theo pop in first thing Monday to get us a temporary replacement system at no cost to us while the one we ordered arrives. They are the best in the business. Great people, great company and the prices are very competitive. If all trade industries were like Australian Hot Water, the world would be a better place, not even joking. The last thing you want is have someone come and quote you a ridiculous price because you are desperate as they can take advantage of the situation. Sounds over the top but we have had a lot of things to resolve in our property, we have had so many trades people come in and more than half of them quoted ridiculous prices (double) or works that don’t need to be done (I checked the brands they used and reviews). Anyway, very fair and they have my vote for any works to be done.

My Experience with Australian Hotwater was average at best. I had the assigned technician arrive on time and was Polite and efficient 3
Stars. After seeing my HW Rhini Infinity 26 was 20yrs old we decided to replace the unit
This is where things went off kilter.
So the technician didn’t have the hot water unit available in his ute, fair enough Im happy to wait for someone to drop it off.
Unit is delivered and qoted around $1863 for like replacement. Only problem is the unit is Rhini 26B not Rhini Infinity 26 as they do have a few small differences.
Although unit is same internal 26L v 26L I’m told it does have other benefits like display’s temperature and looks much nicer and 12yr warranty over the 10yr warranty adds extra 2yrs compared to the B26. On the AHW website, like replacement for Infinity 26 is around $1990 im told cost will be a few hundred more for the Infinity.
After installation we couldn’t get the temperature to compare to the old unit coming out Warm only in the shower upstairs. After many attempts to correct this, we finally got the temperature up to something I’d call hot water.
Then time work out how to pay but Office is closed so im requested to provide my Debit card down for security. In good faith I did this and the price had now jumped up to over $2200 when given final price.
Considering the pipe had to be modified and new valves I accepted the price in principle when he drove off that evening but had not been given me a quote in writing to view before paying the next day.
The next day I wake to receive an email from the office 08:30 on a Saturday morning with my final quote and payment had already been deducted from my Debit card (provided as security). Only problem is Im hit with a $40 Credit card surcharge payment charge that I didn’t authorise to be paid via credit card. I never do this to avoid excessive charges but AHW are happy to process before checking if that was my preferred payment method.
I wasn’t contacted and asked how I wanted to finalise the payment giving me opportunity to Bpay with my bank costing me $0 .
Im told payment is finalised via credit and im slugged with a $40 surcharge to benefit the business so they can get money paid quickly and job finalised.
I find this concerning and not a customer service to your customer. This is wrong.
And for this reason would not use your company AHW in future.
The email response from the office when I complained was terrible stating the technician told me there would be a 2% surcharge on credit payment that I never agreed to is just gone to another level as I never agreed to settle with credit in the first place I hadn’t even been given a final quote to look over yet.
Beware of this and insist on BPay unless you have $40 (or more) 2% of total price to throw down the drain. Also replying to customer emails would be appreciated even if they are unhappy with your office service.

After installation we couldn’t get the temperature to compare to the old unit coming out Warm only in the shower upstairs. After many attempts to correct this, we finally got the temperature up to something I’d call hot water.
Then time work out how to pay but Office is closed so im requested to provide my Debit card down for security. In good faith I did this and the price had now jumped up to over $2200 when given final price.
Considering the pipe had to be modified and new valves I accepted the price in principle when he drove off that evening but had not been given me a quote in writing to view before paying the next day.
The next day I wake to receive an email from the office 08:30 on a Saturday morning with my final quote and payment had already been deducted from my Debit card (provided as security). Only problem is Im hit with a $40 Credit card surcharge payment charge that I didn’t authorise to be paid via credit card. I never do this to avoid excessive charges but AHW are happy to process before checking if that was my preferred payment method.
I wasn’t contacted and asked how I wanted to finalise the payment giving me opportunity to Bpay with my bank costing me $0 .
Im told payment is finalised via credit and im slugged with a $40 surcharge to benefit the business so they can get money paid quickly and job finalised.
I find this concerning and not a customer service to your customer. This is wrong.
And for this reason would not use your company AHW in future.
The email response from the office when I complained was terrible stating the technician told me there would be a 2% surcharge on credit payment that I never agreed to is just gone to another level as I never agreed to settle with credit in the first place I hadn’t even been given a final quote to look over yet.
Beware of this and insist on BPay unless you have $40 (or more) 2% of total price to throw down the drain. Also replying to customer emails would be appreciated even if they are unhappy with your office service.

Today morning I called them as we had only Lukewarm water and they sent a technician within 2 hours, and the problem was fixed in 25 minutes. Wayne came over gave me a quote and next day Daniel arrived and installed the Rheem gas hot water and it was seamless installation and arrived on time. The hot water system was replaced on the agreed date and timeframe, and the quality of the installation was to a high standard even though it was a Friday arvo job.
There were no extra costs associated with the installation and the whole process was very smooth as it should be, even the card payment processing fee was already factored into the price.

The company is very honest as they will give you a good fair price and will make sure to proceed with the quoted price. I had a split system SANDEN 300L heatpump installed last week. Couldn’t be happier with it and Australian Hot Water (Canberra) and the entire installation process.
Some months back I got 6 or so quotes from a variety of hotwater companies in Canberra. I was exploring all options to replace my (almost 30 year old) existing gas hotwater tank (which was leaking). Among the best and most professional quotes was from Graham from Australian Hot Water. He wasn’t pushy at all and on my request he gave me quotes for multiple hot water options i.e. gas, electric, heatpump (both all in one and split system). I’d never heard of heatpumps at the time and subsequently did my own research. After weighing up the various hotwater options, and different suppliers, I ended up deciding on the SANDEN split system heatpump from Australian Hot Water (Canberra), based on Grahams very professional quote in person (in particular all the time he spent explaining all options to me). Their price was also the best (or else similar) to my other SANDEN spilt system quotes. Furthermore however, turns out Australian Hot Water are one of only four (i think) companies in Canberra where you get a $1250 rebate off the purchase price (if you’re with ActewAGL for electricity) so this further brought the cost down significantly.
When my existing hot water system ended up failing and stopped working altogether (which was very stressful at the time), Kylie (admin lady on the phone) was able to organise a temporary hot water tank at short notice (for the next day thankfully), which gave us hot water again. She also organised and fast tracked an install of a brand new split system SANDEN heatpump just a few days later (for which I was very appreciative).
Kylie also handled all the re-quoting (as the rebates had increased, so price had come down significantly) and organised all the interest free finance available to us here in the ACT (so no upfront out of pocket expense at all). It all couldn’t have been simpler.
The actual installation itself was just as professional. Plumbers turned up at midday, removed my old tank (and the temporary tank) and were happy to explain what they were doing and answer all my questions. The installation was very neat and tidy. Friends/family all commented on how neat and professional the new system looks. As the plumbers were finishing the electricians arrived and were just as professional. They ran a separate circuit to my fuse box and were in and out with no fuss. Total installation (and removal of old system) took just under 4 hours.

I can’t recommend Australian Hot water West highly enough. I made the mistake of falling for one of the cheap as chips Hot water “offers” going around at the moment (Emerald brand) and when it all went pear shaped after just two years (the emerald system stopped working and parts were unobtainable) Australian hot water West not only gave me a good deal on a replacement, they supplied me with a temporary plug in hot water system until they could source and install a new system. A reputable brand (a Rheem ambipower 280). Done and dusted in 24 hours…couldn’t be happier

I had a challenging job for the boys, and that was to remove my old 300lt solar hot water system from the roof, which was 3 levels up!!!! and then some how find the best way to get the gas from ground level up to the top level to install a new gas instantaneous hot water system into my laundry. I was dreading the day when Grant, Marcos and Jake came to do the job, as I knew the old system was going to have to be taken down and out through the apartment. The whole day it took to complete, went far smoother than expected. Grant was not phased by the job at all, I like a challenge he said. He came up with a good plan when he quoted for the job and on the day of removal and installation, any changes to that plan (and there were some) he spoke with me and explained why the changes were necessary prior to going ahead. I’d hire all these guys again, in a flash, they know what they are doing and are pragmatic when they need to be.

That is saying we are not going to get hot water until the next morning because the hot water unit currently running at night. The guys didn’t leave us in this award situation, they called the boss and installed a temporary GPO for us, without any charges! I would like to call out the great service, and I will definitely recommend them to anyone who need to install the hot water system!

Australian Hot Water -East (Marcus, Grant and team) installed a 26 liter Riannai heater for us, they also removed the old heater tank that we originally had in our laundry room. They did an amazing job installing the new unit, they relocated the new heater outside the house so new connections and pipes were required. I can say that all the new pipes and connections are very well done and nicely place around the existing Gas and hot water pipes. Great experience, we are converting from gas to electricity. They installed a heat pump hot water system which needed new wiring, they also ran a new circuit to the kitchen for an electric cooktop. All the work was done quickly but carefully, pipework and wiring was neat and tidy, as was the site when they left. Minimum disruption. Our large hot water system leaked late on a Friday afternoon. While it was clear the system needs to be replaced, no plumber would offer to do the work, let alone on the weekend.
